But it is not likely that he married the daughter of the king of Egypt, unless some natural daughter; but rather of some other person called by that name, who might either be an Israelite, or one brought by force out of Egypt by way of spoil. WebIbn Ezra 3 says that Bithiah gave Moshe the Egyptian name Munius, which the Torah translates into Hebrew as Moshe. Alternatively, Ibn Ezra suggests the possibility that Bithiah actually had learnt to speak Hebrew, and it was she who gave Moses his Hebrew name.
